Food For Hungers Program
We believe Peace shall fail when Hungers prevail. To improve Peace in our community we need to address the hungers. Every year the Organization seeks to alleviate hungers. In Australia we distribute food parcels to hungry homeless street people. Our volunteers directly offer hot or cold food parcels to the homeless people in streets of NSW, Victoria and Western Australia. Each food parcel contains sustainable nutritious rice with meats, vegetables and a bottle of water. These food parcels are cooked and donated by the restaurants in proper manner. Each parcel valued at around $30. We also provide warm clothes, blankets and some personal necessity for the homeless street people. On the averaged budget, we provide 400 parcels in Victoria, 400 parcels in NSW and 200 parcels in Western Australia.
In overseas, we provide, on a monthly budget each $10 per food parcel, 2000 parcels to street homeless children in Manila, and 1000 parcels to street children in Bangladesh, 2000 parcels to homeless children in remote and mountain areas. Total food donation overseas each month is 5000 parcels of $10 each. All costs including food, cooking, delivering and inspecting are donated by our volunteers in the vicinity. We administrate and support the program.
The below is 2 examples of our works. The first video exhibits one of our free food restaurant in Ben Tre city, Vietnam. We donate cooked meals to poor students, homeless children and poor patients in the local hospitals. Every day, the restaurant is able to support free 350 meals to homeless children and hungers on the streets. Our local overseas volunteers provide materials and cooking. We administer and support the program.
The second video captured a food distribution program to the poorest indigenous people living in the mountain areas Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. Most of them are handicapped, invalid or victims of Agent Orange. Our monthly budget only support to 300 people per month. Each day the 300 poorest people receive a parcel of cooked food and a bottle of water valued at $5 each. The total budgeted cost of donating food for handicapped and disabled poor people in this mountain area is $45,000 excluding of volunteers time and petrol.
